Isshin Ryu Karate

Isshin Ryu Karate was designed to be the ideal fighting system. Isshin Ryu does not have any flashy moves. It was designed as a compact, realistic fighting system. Isshin Ryu is the simplest form of karate, yet contains the most powerful and devastating techniques of any martial arts system.

Founder

After years of training in the Goju Ryu and Shorin Ryu systems, Master Tatsuo Shimabuku concluded that neither style incorporated everything that a karate system should have. Master Shimabuku combined the speed of Shorin Ryu with the power of Goju Ryu to create the Isshin Ryu karate system.
